Tri Sirena Takes Waco 70.3
Well, hellooooo Texas! Or should we say, howdy?
We hit the road last week for Waco; home of the Brazos River, the Dr. Pepper Museum and (of course)...Chip and Joanna Gaines. This was the first time the city of Waco hosted the 70.3 Ironman event.
This was our first event in Texas and it was so exciting to meet new customers, some of our social media friends, and hang out with a few of our 2019 Siren Luminaries. Shoutout to Caet, Sherri and Bethany for helping us at the event booth!
Bethany stopped by the booth after finishing her first half Ironman!
Sherri killed it at Ironman Waco 70.3 wearing her Ali'i Eyes on Me Sleeved Aero Skinsuit. Her hubby actually bought it for her as a surprise! He is definitely a keeper.
Great to meet Melissa IRL!
Always such a joy having Kyra nearby! She totally rocked Waco 70.3 and we are SO proud.
Heavy rain in the area caused flooding, debris and a strong current in the Brazos River. The swim portion of the race was up in the air for Friday and Saturday, then Sunday morning it was officially canceled. Some participants were thrilled, others disappointed. Just part of the fun of triathlon!
Despite the lack of a swim, athletes had beautiful weather on race day. The course included cycling and running over two of Waco's famous bridges. The finish line is arguably one of the most epic, on the oldest suspension bridge in the Southwest.
It was a blast introducing Tri Sirena to new customers! We even had a pop-up dressing booth so women could try on our athletic apparel.
Texas was such a blast we're thinking about putting more races on our calendar. Want to see us in your area? Drop your city in the comments below!
